Staying the Course

Staying the course is all about sticking to your plans and goals and seeing them through, even when stuff gets rocky. I had no idea how important these words were until I went through a personal tragedy. Even in personal tragedy, you have to stay the course.

You can see it in the Bible, where people like Jeremiah and Abraham stayed true to their purpose despite catching flak or having hard choices to make. They didn't let fear or criticism steer them off course. Same goes for Joseph and Paul, who faced harsh trials but ultimately kept the faith.

Their stories remind us that “staying the course” pays off. If you start something meaningful, you need to finish it - even when quitting seems easier.

So how do you “stay the course” in your own life?

Here is my main tip:

* Tune out distractions and temptations. (This is so true in today’s society!)  Something new I am trying this year is:  Setting a timer for 30-minute intervals (after work hours) to focus on one task at a time.   I want to be proud of myself and my accomplishments every day.

So, stick to your goals, block out distractions, and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Stay the course!  We’ve got this!
